[flgallery id=5 /]
Ha Pak Nai (下白泥)
is one of the best places in Hong Kong to watch the sunset (The another best place for sunset is Tai O). This area is in Yuen Long District, New Territories, in the northwestern part of Hong Kong. It is partially covered by a wetland and you can see Shenzhen in the background. The mangroves, shallow beach and the sunset shimmering on the water compose a romantic and enchanting picture.

Address: Ha Pak Nai, Lau Fau Shan, Yuen Long
Transport: take green mini bus No. 33 at Tai Fung Street in Yuen Long Town, get off at Tai Kok Miu or Ap Chai Hang after the Lau Fau Shan Roundabout.

Tips: Two best positions to enjoy the sunset:
(1) shallow beach along Ha Pak Nai shore
(2) Layby at the junction of Deep Bay Road and Nim Wan Road

Insider tips: When you walk along beach towards the west, at the end of the beach, you can see a Tin Hau Temple and a guardian, named Wong Choi that is a little cute dog, greets you and play with you. But, you have to find a hidden upstair “with a forbidden entry sign” to climb up to the temple area.
